Hold Retailers Accountable for their Policies

PRICE DISCRIMATION is real. And it hurts the most disadvantaged in our society because they do not have the money or storage space to buy multiple items in order to save money. For more details read “Time to Stop Unfair Pricing”.

Help us get the message to the people who can “make a difference” in this story:

  1. The retailers who are responsible for the pricing strategies in their individual stores, franchises and chains.
  2. The lawmakers who can influence and legislate against this type of blatant discrimination against the people in society who need the most help.

Nobody should have to pay more because of their circumstances.

This is not the same as simply choosing to shop at another store in order to get a lower price or better value. This is saying that one person shopping at a particular store on a particular day gets one price and someone who has less money in their pocket to spend must pay a higher price for exactly the same items. This is UNFAIR and it is DISCRIMINATION.

We have prepared example letters that you can send to the retailers and the politicians in your community. The letters are in a PDF format.

Act Now

You can simply:

  1. print it,
  2. sign your name and any other details such as address, phone number or email address that you are willing to disclose, and
  3. send it to the relevant people in your area that are responsible for “unfair prices” that hurt our community.

If you have any contacts in the local media, you may want to share the message with them too. At present, Canada is conducting a parliamentary investigation of grocery prices. This is an excellent time to speak out to your Member of Parliament or a member of the parliamentary committee and let him know that it is time for grocery stores to be responsible for their pricing policies and accountable to the shoppers.
